Ana Maria Ciotec is the Country Director of Helexia Romania, leading the company’s growth and supporting commercial and industrial clients with tailored solar PV, PPA and energy transition solutions. She brings extensive experience in sales, business development and strategic client management.

1. What is changing today in the way companies understand energy?

Energy is becoming personal to companies, not just a cost to manage. Our clients in the C&I sector are choosing to invest directly in their own PV projects, because they genuinely want to shape their impact and their future, not just tick a compliance box.

2. What are clients looking for today when making decisions about their energy?

More than anything, they want a partner they can trust through complexity, someone who is honest about risk and stays close to them as regulation or market conditions shift. Price matters, of course, but what really builds loyalty is showing up reliably when things get complicated.

3. What challenges do you face when developing energy projects in your market?

Romania keeps us on our toes. New rules can suddenly apply to installations we already considered complete, which means I have learned to treat “finished” projects as still needing attention long after construction ends. Honestly, that constant vigilance is part of what keeps this work interesting. Our team embraces challenges and knows that change is the only constant.

4. What do you value most about the way of working at Helexia?

Without a doubt, the people and the teamwork. I am grateful to work with such people locally and globally. There is a real synergy here: when a project gets complicated, colleagues across countries and departments show up to help, no ego involved. That quality of people, and the trust between us, is what makes hard things feel possible.

5. Outside of work, what helps you disconnect and recharge your energy?

Family time is where I recharge. Nothing clears my head like when I am being present in the now with the people I love. I also try to get out in nature whenever I can, and skiing especially quiets all the mind noise as there is something about the mountain air and the focus it takes that resets me completely.
