Helexia has reached financial close on a new €20 million tranche of its pan-European solar financing programme, supported by La Banque Postale and Bpifrance.
This latest tranche covers a portfolio of 73 photovoltaic projects located across France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. It forms part of a broader investment programme launched in 2023, representing a total investment of more than €200 million.
The transaction marks another important milestone in Helexia’s European growth strategy and reinforces the company’s ability to develop, structure and finance distributed renewable energy projects across multiple markets.
By bringing together projects from four countries within a single financing framework, this programme has created a diversified and scalable investment platform while accelerating the deployment of renewable energy generation closer to where electricity is consumed.
The financing also reflects the continued confidence of leading financial institutions in Helexia’s business model, operational capabilities and the long-term value of its project portfolio.
Bernard Guntz, CEO of Helexia, commented: “This transaction demonstrates our ability to develop, structure and finance renewable energy projects across multiple European markets. It also reinforces our commitment to supporting companies in their energy transition by providing solutions that combine sustainability, competitiveness and long-term value creation.”
Aurora Energy Research supported the transaction as market adviser, providing power market forecasts that contributed to the assessment of the portfolio’s long-term revenue potential and overall bankability.
As renewable energy portfolios become larger, more geographically diverse and increasingly sophisticated, robust and transparent market analysis is becoming a critical input for lenders and investors. Reliable forecasts help assess exposure to future electricity prices, quantify long-term risks and provide the confidence required to mobilise capital for the energy transition.
Through this financing programme, Helexia will continue to accelerate the deployment of solar photovoltaic projects across Europe, helping companies reduce their dependence on the electricity grid, improve the predictability of their energy costs and lower their carbon footprint.
This latest €20 million tranche completes a further stage of the broader programme initiated in 2023, which has enabled more than €200 million of investment in solar projects across Europe.
The transaction illustrates how strong partnerships between energy companies, financial institutions and market specialists can transform ambitious decarbonisation objectives into concrete projects with measurable economic and environmental impact.
