Crédito Agrícola, one of Portugal’s leading cooperative banking groups, has entered a partnership with Helexia Portugal to support companies investing in energy transition projects by combining access to specialised energy expertise with preferential financing conditions. The agreement is designed to make it easier for businesses to implement projects in areas such as solar photovoltaic generation, energy storage, electric mobility and energy efficiency. Under the partnership, Crédito Agrícola business customers may benefit from discounts of up to 15% on Helexia’s Engineering and Project Management fees, subject to the characteristics and conditions of each project.
At the same time, Helexia customers choosing Crédito Agrícola to finance their energy transition investments may benefit from preferential financing conditions, including a reduction of up to 10% on the applicable spread and a 20% discount on credit opening fees.
“The energy transition is increasingly a strategic opportunity for companies to improve both efficiency and competitiveness. Through this partnership, Crédito Agrícola is reinforcing its commitment to supporting customers in the investments required to address the challenges of decarbonisation and energy efficiency,” says Sérgio Raposo Frade, Chairman of Crédito Agrícola Group.
The partnership forms part of Crédito Agrícola’s Net Zero Transition Plan and strengthens the Group’s support for customers pursuing more sustainable business models. By facilitating access to both specialised energy solutions and financing, the agreement aims to help companies respond to today’s energy and environmental challenges while supporting Crédito Agrícola’s ambition to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Luis Pinho, Country Director of Helexia Portugal & Group Head of Operations, adds: “This partnership creates more favourable conditions for companies to move forward with their energy transition projects by combining access to financing with specialised technical support. Our objective is to help each company identify and implement the solutions best suited to its operations, enabling more efficient use of energy while reducing its carbon footprint.”
