Location: Vigo, Spain
Company Description
Vialia Estación de Vigo is a mixed-use asset located in the heart of Vigo and managed by Nhood España. It brings together an intermodal transport station, a shopping centre and a major public space. Nhood describes the project as the transformation of a former large urban excavation into an emblematic and sustainable building, combining an intermodal station, a public square of more than 30,000 m2 and a commercial offer adapted to the needs of the city.
The centre includes around 43,000 m² dedicated to retail, leisure and food & beverage. Nhood also refers to 125 stores, a 30,000 m² multi-purpose rooftop square with sea views, and a car park with 1,549 spaces.
Vialia Vigo is more than a shopping centre. It is an urban regeneration, mobility and experience project. By integrating retail, transport, leisure, food & beverage and public space, it acts as a connector between the city, the station and new urban uses.
Service Description
The self-consumption photovoltaic installation developed by Helexia Spain on the rooftop of Vialia Vigo is a clear example of how renewable energy can be integrated into large mixed-use urban assets.
The project has an installed capacity of 355.30 kWp and includes 646 solar modules, with an estimated annual production of 491 MWh. This generation covers around 20.1% of the centre’s energy consumption and avoids approximately 60 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions per year.
The project was developed under a PPA model, with Helexia responsible for the development, financing, construction and operation of the solar plant over a 15-year period.
