Service Description
Agricultural photovoltaic project of 500 kWp in Vendée (France) : Helexia supports a cattle farmer
Thanks to its expertise in agricultural photovoltaics since 2010, Helexia supports farmers in developing and sustaining their agricultural operations. The company provides photovoltaic installations tailored to the needs of the agricultural sector, whether through renovating the roofs of existing buildings or constructing new agricultural sheds.
In Vendée, Helexia has developed a 500 kWp agricultural photovoltaic project for a cattle farmer. Implemented as part of the Helexia Agri offer, this project combines renewable energy production with the development of agricultural infrastructure, supporting both the performance and sustainability of the farm.
A photovoltaic power plant integrated into the farm’s agricultural buildings
The project involves the construction of a 1,400 m2 agricultural building, as well as the renovation of the roof of an existing 2,000 m2 building, in order to meet the farm’s storage needs.
The roofs of these two buildings host a photovoltaic installation with a total capacity of 500 kWp. This agricultural photovoltaic power plant makes it possible to optimize the use of roof surfaces while generating renewable electricity directly on the farm.
Through this model, the farmer now benefits from two fully functional agricultural buildings, without bearing the investment costs associated with the construction or renovation of these structures.
These new infrastructures provide the farm with secure storage space to protect both forage and agricultural equipment. They also enable the farmer to reorganize and optimize the operation of the farm, while making productive use of available roof surfaces for solar energy generation.
Renewable energy production for more sustainable agriculture
The photovoltaic installation generates approximately 1,130 MWh of renewable electricity per year. This production directly contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, with 34.4 tonnes of CO2 avoided each year.
Agricultural photovoltaic projects therefore play a key role in the energy transition of the agricultural sector. They transform agricultural buildings into real sources of green energy production, while supporting the development and modernization of farming operations.
Helexia Agri: supporting farmers in their photovoltaic projects
Through its Helexia Agri offer, Helexia develops energy solutions dedicated to the agricultural sector. These projects enable farmers to build or renovate agricultural buildings, to optimize the use of their roof surfaces, to produce renewable energy and, to contribute to the energy transition
Thanks to its expertise in financing, designing, and operating photovoltaic power plants, Helexia supports farmers at every stage of their project.
A concrete example of the energy transition in agriculture
This agricultural photovoltaic project carried out in Vendée (France) perfectly illustrates the complementarity between solar energy production, modernization of agricultural buildings and the development of farming operations.
By combining the construction of agricultural buildings with photovoltaic installations, Helexia provides a sustainable solution that meets both the needs of farmers and the challenges of the energy transition.
