Company Description
Valeo is a global automotive technology company and a key partner to vehicle manufacturers worldwide. With around 100,000 employees across 29 countries, the Group develops technologies in areas such as electrification, advanced driver assistance systems, lighting and software, helping shape the transition towards safer and more sustainable mobility.
Service Description
Helexia has developed two rooftop solar PV plants for Valeo, installed at its production sites in Pianezza and Santena, in the province of Turin. The two projects form part of a broader energy transition strategy aimed at reinforcing Valeoâs environmental commitment, enhancing its corporate image and generating economic benefits.
The total installed capacity is 966.1 kWp, with an estimated annual production of 1,155 MWh. Thanks to a high average self-consumption rate, Valeo is able to cover a significant share of its energy needs while reducing CO2 emissions by 284 tonnes per year. In environmental terms, this is equivalent to planting around 5,676 trees and supplying the annual electricity needs of approximately 428 households.
A strategic investment without upfront capital
Through the ESCo model, Helexia directly financed the development of the solar PV plants at the Santena and Pianezza production sites. This approach allows Valeo to benefit immediately from renewable energy and lower energy costs, without deploying its own capital.
It is a model that combines economic and environmental sustainability, while helping improve long-term competitiveness.
