Company Description

Aqua Village in Portugal, was created in 2009 around a distinctive concept: to become a village within a village and a destination hotel in its own right.

Sustainability has been embedded in the resort’s design and operations from the outset, through the adoption of policies, practices and technologies aimed at protecting the environment.

Service Description

This commitment has now been reinforced in partnership with Helexia,  with the installation of a 231 kWp solar carport in the Aqua Village Health Resort & Spa’s parking area. With a self-consumption rate of 94%, the system enables the resort to avoid approximately 140 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year.

By generating clean electricity on site, the installation reduces dependence on fossil fuels, lowers energy costs and makes an active contribution to the resort’s environmental objectives. At the same time, the solar carport provides shaded parking for guests, improving their comfort and overall experience while further strengthening Aqua Village’s sustainable positioning.

The project is therefore fully aligned with a sustainability strategy that has been part of Aqua Village’s DNA since its creation.

With Helexia, Aqua Village also offers electric vehicle charging facilities for its guests, including one 50 kW fast charger and one dual 22 kW charger. Together, these units can charge up to four vehicles simultaneously, allowing guests to recharge conveniently while enjoying the resort’s facilities.
